Trees and plants labelled as a “valuable community asset” have been stolen from a skate park.
South Oxhey Playing Fields had its greenery taken from the skate park in the last few days.
Three Rivers District Council posted on Facebook about the “hugely saddening” incident.
It added: “The council is aware of the theft of trees and plants at the skate park in the South Oxhey playing fields that occurred in the last few days, which is hugely saddening.
“The plants were freshly planted with our residents and adult day centre users in mind, who love to explore the park, to not only provide valuable shade but also offer habitats for nature, tantalise the senses and support the climate change strategy to alleviate extreme weather conditions.”
The council is working with the police to find those responsible.
This comes after the refurbishment of the space earlier this year as the skate park, tennis courts and pathways were refurbished.
If you have any more information about this, contact the police via 101.
