A tearoom has held an official opening event after already proving “hugely popular”.
The Tea Room at Bricket Wood Station has been serving customers since the start of August but held its official opening, attended by representatives from London Northwestern Railway (LNR), the Bricket Wood Station Trust, and local dignitaries yesterday (October 22).
The event celebrated the completion of restoration work which benefitted from £250,000 in LNR funding and brought the disused building at the single platform station back into use for the community.

“The quality of the Edwardian-style tearoom run by Cheryl Clark will assure popularity and love for the building for many years to come,” said trust chairman David Horton.
LNR’s Cara Higgs added: “The new tearoom at Bricket Wood has transformed the station and the Heritage Trust have done a wonderful job in managing restoration.
“The tearoom is already hugely popular and it is a perfect example of why London Northwestern Railway schemes are integral to local communities.”
LNR operations director Darren Ward, a former train driver on the Abbey Line was also among the event’s speakers.
The Tea Room at Bricket Wood Station is open from 9am to 3pm Wednesday to Saturday each week.
