Watford photographer Simon McQueen, known for his black and white photography, was called on to carry out the project.
Simon photographed people in key locations in the town and would reflect the human element of Watford’s urban landscape.
In discussing his creative process, Simon said: "My work is a way of getting out into the world and connecting with people in the tradition of some of the great photographers of the past.
“I love black and white for its look and timelessness.
“When I'm out on the streets, I don't want the distraction of colour; it's all about the people and trying to freeze a moment of life as it happens.
“Imperfection is far more interesting than perfection."
The exhibition is expected to run until the new year.
Niamh Crowley, marketing manager at Atria Watford, said: “This exhibition promises to be a captivating experience for visitors, providing a unique perspective on the heart and soul of Watford."
