As some cash-strapped councils have announced they will cancel Christmas lights, plans for Watford’s festive season have been revealed.
Watford Town Centre BID confirmed it will be funding the town’s LED Christmas light installations with a contribution from Watford Borough Council.
An event is being held in The Parade, Saturday, November 18, from 2pm to 6pm when the lights will be officially switched on.
Winterfest will include festive activities, food and drink stalls, a high street parade and live music performances.

The town’s festive installations will light up Winterfest at the conclusion of the high street parade and remain lit until January 2024.
A spokesperson for Watford Town Centre BID said: “The festive LED twinkly lights provide a wonderful backdrop for all Watford town centre users for the five weeks leading up to Christmas Day, and they will complement Atria Watford’s beautiful displays.
“Huge credit must go to BID businesses for funding another thrilling and dynamic event in our town.”
