A new restaurant come nightclub will be heading to Watford town centre to serve “authentic Mexican food”.
SOBE Restaurant Management Group Limited said it plans to open the venue, called 'Jardin, Mexican Concina and Tequilla Bar', in The Colombia Press's former unit in The Parade.
It comes after Wetherspoon, which owns the site, initially told the Watford Observer that burger bar SoBe would be moving in. It has been contacted for clarification.
However, SOBE Restaurant Management Group Limited has said it is opening at the premises at the end of the year or early 2024.
Co-owner Aly Ladha said: “Watford has a great nightlife and atmosphere.
“My business partner Rahim Remtula and I chose this area because we wanted to bring authentic Mexican food to the town at affordable prices.

“It will be a restaurant in the evening and at 10pm will turn into a nightclub.”
Wetherspoon, Watford Borough Council and Watford Town Centre BID have all be unable to confirm the name of the company set to move into the premises.
However, documentation seen by the Watford Observer suggests it is in fact SOBE Restaurant Management Group Limited that is expected to take over.
