Staff at a popular high street clothes store will soon be wearing bodycams after the retailer saw a rise in thefts.
Primark announced today (September 13) that it will roll out the initiative to its stores including Watford’s.
However, not all staff will wear the cameras, only the security personnel and duty manager.
The roll-out across the UK has begun and will complete in the first half of next year.
A Primark spokesperson said: “Like many retailers we are seeing an increase in shoplifting across our stores.
“Our chief concern is that we want and expect our stores to be safe and enjoyable places for our colleagues and customers.”

They added it is part of additional security measures being added to its stores that include increasing the number of security guards and more CCTV.
“Fundamental change however will be driven at industry and societal level, and we are working closely with other retailers, police and local authorities and we welcome and call for further collaborative action to tackle this together as an urgent priority,” they said.
Last year three mums shared stories of their belongings being stolen while in Watford’s Primark.
At the time, a Primark spokesperson said it takes reports of theft seriously and will “thoroughly investigate”.
