A renowned pianist from Ukraine will be performing a selection of classical and popular favourites at a free lunchtime concert in Watford tomorrow.
The performance by Oksana Hermanchuk, who studied at the famous Kyiv Conservatory, is the latest ‘Music at Midday’ concert by talented singers and musicians from the war-torn nation to be staged at St Mary’s Church by The Sunflower Social Club.
This organisation was set by Watford legend Luther Blissett and his partner Lauren Fox in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and continues to provide wide-ranging help and support to victims of the conflict.
This support spans a host of important aspects of their lives, including housing assistance, employment opportunities, improving language proficiency, therapy resources, and a weekly drop-in social club at the Watford church.
Coffee and cakes will be available in the church from 12 noon tomorrow, with Oksana’s performance due to begin at 12.30pm.
