The summer holidays are in full swing - and with just under a month left, you may be running out of ideas to keep the little ones entertained without breaking the bank.
Here is a round up of upcoming community events in Watford and the surrounding areas, which you can take your kids to for free or a small cost.
1. Art in the Park
Leavesden Country Park is hosting Art in the Park this August bank holiday.
This community-led event, run by three local artists and will include artist demonstrations, an art trail activity, and workshops.
It will be in Leavesden Country Park from 11am to 4pm on Monday, August 28.
2. Family outdoor sessions in the woods
Cassiobury Park is offering families the chance to get involved with nature craft activities.
They have run two sessions in the last week, with the final one on Thursday, August 10 at 10am where your child can make a fabric owl.

3. One World Animals
Abbots Langley Community Centre will host an exotic animal encounter for families.
It will include creatures, who are all rescues, from across the world and give children the chance to ask any questions and interact with a variety of animals.
One World Animals will be in Abbots Langley on August 17 from 1.30pm.

4. Tales of the River Colne Wildplay
Oxhey Activity Park is hosting Groundwork East to get residents out and learning about the local area.
This free event includes a variety of activities for children under 8, including raft building, hat making and building dens.
Each session has a different theme, so you will not find out what activity you are doing until you arrive.
The next sessions are on August 15, 22 and 30 at 9.15-10.30am, 11am-12.30pm, 1pm-2.30pm.

5. Herts Summer Parks
This series of events is for 12 to 16 year olds and is hosted across Hertfordshire.
It offers teens the chance to get involved with different activities including skating workshops, graffiti workshops, climbing and pottery painting.
They are held daily from 4pm and 7pm and is free to attend.
Attendees also get a free meal voucher for a local restaurant.
The events have been going on since July 31 and end on August 25.

6. FarmFest
This four day festival is in aid of a home for 11 Ukrainian females and children.
It is taking place on August 25 to August 28 in Maple Cross, Rickmansworth at Lynsters Farm and is showcasing up and coming artists local to Hertfordshire and London.
Tickets are £15 for adults and children go free, with the event run by the charity The Catholic Worker Farm.
