Many of the pubs that have been featured in our weekly dip into the picture archive of Watford Museum have sadly closed, but this one is still serving customers more than 60 years after it first opened.
The museum's volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: "The Badger pub is in The Gossamers, near to York Way, on the Meriden estate.
"The pub was opened by Benskins, by then owned by Ind Coope, around 1961 and formed part of the new and expanding housing estate. This photograph may have been taken in late 1960s or early 1970'.

"At this time there was the option of going into the pub in the usual way or to visit their off licence or 'home sales', to purchase alcohol to take home.
"Sadly, we have very little information about this popular pub although I understand that in the 1970s it was run by F. A Johnson. Unlike a number of pubs in Watford, the Badger is still in business."
Watford Museum is open Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
