Watford’s biggest nightclub has gone through several incarnations over the years. From Top Rank to Pryzm, tens of thousands of people have visited the venue in the Parade to enjoy a night out since it first opened.
Back in the 1990s, the club was called Kudos, but at the end of the decade it underwent a facelift and a name change - and Destiny was born.
It opened its doors for the first time on March 26, 1999 and a Watford Observer photographer was there to snap some of the clubbers enjoying that opening night.
They included guests included future elected mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill, who was pictured enjoying a chat with ‘Del Boy’ of Only Fools and Horses fame.
Take a look through these pictures from our archive and you may spot yourself if you were in the club on that opening night.
