Watford’s very own Rio and Notting-Hill inspired carnival is back after thousands attended last year’s event.
This year it will be held on Saturday, July 29, in Radlett Road Playing Field, Watford.
The event was brought back to life last year after Watford hadn’t seen a carnival since the 1990s.
It was set up by Jomo Oparah the chief executive of events management company Mojo Fusion and its about “portraying socio-cultural interactions and promoting diverse cultural heritages in Watford,” he said.
Despite train cancellations last year, it still saw nearly 3,000 people attend throughout the day.
Mr Oparah said: “We had various kinds of food, even the police were dancing to the music – it was a very fun day out for everybody and there were no troubles. It’s amazing.”

Watford FC legend Luther Blissett opened the festival on the day and local councillors such as Dawn Allen-Williamson and Asif Khan attended.
Mr Oparah thanked Mayor Peter Taylor for his support of the event.
