If you are unsure as to what you and the family can get up to this weekend there are some fun events for everyone to enjoy.
We are meant to reach highs of 29 degrees over the weekend and what better way than to spend it outside.
Let’s look at three local festivals that are being held this weekend.
Oxhey Village Summer Fayre
Being held in the Oxhey Village Green, the day starts at 1pm on Saturday, June 10.
The summer fayre will have food and drink stalls, entertainment and lots of fun and games.
From 1.15pm a 3km cross country fun run will begin from the Oxhey Green Lower Paddock Road. There is no need to book in advance you can turn up on the day. Entry is free and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The fayre will also play host to the Oxhey Village Dog Show from 2.15pm.
Three prizes are awarded in each category: Golden Oldie (7+), Best Mover, Best Hair Do, Waggiest Tail, Most Like its Owner.
Registration for the competition is next to the OVEG tent and needs to be done before 2pm.
Entering in one category will cost £2 and £5 to enter three.
Watford Lions Abbots Langley Carnival
This is also being held on Saturday, June 10 at the Manor House Grounds, Gallows Hill Lane.
The day will start at 1pm and attendees will have two arenas of activities to choose from.
Arena one, will have performances from the likes of Charlotte Amelia School of Dance and the Rock Choir.
From 4.30pm a children’s disco will also be held.
Arena two, will have a KT Karate Demonstration and St Albans Morris dancers, then at 3.30pm, the tug of war will begin.
Bushey Performing Arts Festival
Performers from across Hertfordshire will be taking part in this festival on Sunday, June 11.
It will start at 11.45am and his held across Mary Forsdyke Gardens, Warren Lake and The Three Crowns pub.
The event, formerly known as Bushey Acoustic Festival, changed its name to reflect the diverse range of acts taking part.
This year will feature singer/songwriters, bands, improvisation groups, comedians and storytellers.
