A winner has been crowned after Watford Observer readers were asked to name their favourite local café.
Tasty Bean Café in Oxhey Activity Park, Wiggenhall Road, was crowned as the competition winner and co-directors Jerome and Jayne Enskat were “thrilled” to be recognised by customers, adding that they have plans to expand the business in the future.
Since opening in September 2020, Tasty Bean Café has been working to give a boost to the community in the park and the surrounding area.

Jerome said: “We are thrilled with this award and hope that it will act as a springboard in helping us grow our business with additional sites in the near future.”
He added that he credited Tasty Bean’s “fantastic” team with creating an experience customers love.
The team has also been raising funds for Herts Young Homeless, an organisation that helps prevent youngsters becoming homeless, for the last two years.
“We recognise the fantastic work that Herts Young Homeless does in this local community and the life-changing impact it has on so many people,” Jerome added.
“We pledge that as a business we will double the funds raised by the public through our current activities.”
After the award was confirmed, the café congratulated its staff via its social media pages and thanked all the customers who voted for it to win.
“Well done to our team at the Tasty Bean. We think you’re fantastic,” it said.
Numerous customers then congratulated the café on its “so well deserved” award.
Tasty Bean Café is open from 9am to 6pm daily with a breakfast menu until 11.30am and full food menu from salads and toasties to chicken katsu curry, from 12pm.
Flourish Craft Bakery, Watford, That Little Coffee Shop, Abbots Langley, Simba Bru Coffee Shop & Roastery, Watford, and Villiers Coffee House, Oxhey, were also among the top five nominees when the final round of voting began on March 20.
All nominations came from Watford Observer readers and the cafés with the most nominations went to the voting stage, which closed on May 10.
