The BBC has been filming a hit series outside Watford town centre businesses this week.
Long-running crime drama Silent Witness recorded scenes in Market Street yesterday (May 18), including some inside Jenny’s Café and Oana Hair Studio.
The BBC production department confirmed that it will not be depicting Watford in the programme, instead Market Street will be “merely shown as a generic road and café in the UK”.

Silent Witness, starring Emilia Fox, follows a team of forensic pathology experts as they investigate crime across the county and first aired in 1996, with filming in Watford and Bushey also having taken place for earlier series.
Scenes were shot from 7.30am until 5.30pm. Technical vehicles were parked in the road and “filming in progress” signs were put up during this time.
Watford Borough Council was informed of the filming and a letter was sent out to nearby businesses and residents informing them of the shoot and promising noise and disruption would be kept to a minimum.
