A market trader has revealed he is set to move his business into a high street store.
Bilal Majeed, who has run The Fabric Box in Watford Market since 2017, will open A&M Textiles in the former Dracula’s European Foods unit, next to Canvas Bar, in The Parade.
Speaking ahead of the official opening on May 13, he told the Watford Observer the “unique store” will provide fabrics for dress making, haberdashery, net curtains, knitting wool and other uses.
He claimed some customers said it will be the first “proper fabric store” in Watford for more than 20 years.
“We have been in the market for the last six years, we have made our customers, but lack of footfall in the market has led us to move outside onto the parade,” Mr Majeed said.
“We are very excited and looking forward to a better location and more visibility.”
The business also has branches in High Wycombe, Aylesbury and north London and has been operating for 15 years.
