The future of a company which has one of its flagship stores in Watford is in doubt after it went into administration.
After its American owners filed for bankruptcy, David’s Bridal, which has a branch in Waterfields Shopping Park, Watford, has confirmed it is “exploring a sale of all or some of its assets”.
The 294 wedding shops across the UK, US, and Canada will remain open, and David’s Bridal intends to continue operating and fulfilling all customer orders.

However, in a statement, it added that it is “strategically managing inventory and evaluating its physical footprint to maximize value” as it pursues a sale.
The company claims to dress one in four US brides and first opened in the UK in 2013.
CEO James Marcum said: “Our business continues to be challenged by the post-COVID environment and uncertain economic conditions, leading us to take this step to identify a buyer who can continue to operate our business going forward.
“We are determined to stay focused on our future, because we believe we have an important role in ensuring that every bride, no matter her budget, can have her perfect dress."
More than 150 people in the UK are employed by David’s Bridal.
