Forty amateur artists will be showcasing their talent when they take part in an art exhibition at a theatre next month.
The artists from Berry Lane Art Group, which meets in Croxley Green and Rickmansworth, are displaying their work, some for the first time, at Elgiva Theatre, in Chesham. The group has held seven exhibitions in and around Watford but this is their first at the theatre.
The theatre, in St Mary’s Way, holds a number of exhibitions focussing on local professional and amateur artists.
Most of the Berry Lane work, which includes a variety of media, from silk painting and acrylics to watercolours and collage, is for sale. Prices range from £30 to £200 but the public is encouraged to view, with no pressure to buy.
There are four Berry Lane classes a week run by art teachers Frances Black and Gillian Blair who are curating the work.
Frances said: “Our classes are for everyone and we get people from all walks of life and all ages. They are totally inclusive and people feel relaxed and enjoy their art.
“This exhibition offers affordable art but there is no pressure to buy. We want to thank the Elgiva for this opportunity to showcase their work.”
The exhibition runs from March 6 to 31 and is open for viewing from Monday to Saturday, 10.30am to 3pm.
Any sold work can be collected at the end of the exhibition by arrangement.
