Following the closure of a pub in Watford a space has opened for a new business to take over.
The Colombia Press in The Parade closed on Monday, February 6 and had its last day of trading the previous day.
It now leaves a vacant building in the strip and while there have not been any announcements as to what will take its place, many suggestions have been offered.
When the Watford Observer asked people what they would like to see there next, a variety of answers crept up on Facebook.
Several people called for it to be replaced with a restaurant.
The types of restaurants ranged from Pizza Hut, a pie and mash shop, a Thai restaurant, to bringing back the Wimpy or a Wendy’s.
One person said they wanted a “Texan/soul food BBQ joint with live music”.
Although, others were quick to respond that they believed Watford has enough restaurants in the town centre.

Some were happy for it to stay as a pub, as one person said: “As it's between two very lively pubs… I can't see anything else than a pub would be appropriate.”
Other suggestions included a sports bar, “a quirky bar like the ones in Shoreditch” or a retro arcade.

But one person suggested that its neighbour, Popworld, should “knock down a wall” and have an even bigger space for a nightclub.
Some decided the plot should change all together, with suggestions including a home bargain store, a bookshop, or a nail salon.
And finally, there were some tongue in cheek responses with a nod to the number of flats being built around Watford.
One person joked: “Watford needs flats tbf, not enough”.
The Colombia Press is among 39 Wetherspoon pubs that were put up for sale nationwide.
On Friday, February 10, Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “The company, on occasion, will close one of its pubs. This is a commercial decision.”
After its closure the name was stripped off the site and metal sheets were placed over the window front.
The company confirmed that it has not been sold and is still on the market.
