A new “traditional chip shop” is set to open after a plan was approved.
A former electronics, hardware, and DIY store is being turned into a chip shop in Tudor Parade, by Berry Lane, Rickmansworth.
Locals spotted a sign advertising the shop which says it is “opening soon”.
Three Rivers District Council received the plan to change the unit’s use to a hot food takeaway and install an extractor pipe at the back of the building on September 9.
The council approved it on September 22.

The existing traditional shop front will be maintained, according to the plan, as it is in keeping with the character of the area.
Separate planning permission is sometimes required for changes to signage at the front of a business.
An earlier separate application to change the building’s use to the sale of hot food was withdrawn last year.
