A recently refurbished “lovely neighbourhood pub” is looking for a new landlord to take it over.
The Rifle Volunteer in Villiers Road, Oxhey, is being advertised by the UK's largest pub company, Stonegate Group, as a “retail partnership tenancy”.
Anyone looking to run the business would need to complete an online qualification from the British Institute of Innkeeping and get a personal licence before paying ingoing costs of £17,250.
The description on Stonegate Group’s website says: “The Rifle Volunteer is a lovely neighbourhood pub in the heart of a highly populated residential area of suburban comfort.
“The internal décor is traditional with a quirky twist, with darts board and bookshelves adding to the classic feel.”
The listing adds that it has been recently refurbished to a good standard.

For a guide rent of £33,000 each year, tenants can apparently expect a potential turnover of £445,000 and private accommodation with two bedrooms, a lounge, office and bathroom.
It also boasts a loyal customer base and high footfall, particularly made up of young professionals and commuters.
The pub is built around the drinks on offer but includes a trade kitchen which Stonegate says “has scope for further use”.
