Pictures showing the beauty of snow have flooded social media thick and fast recently.

When Watford awoke to a winter wonderland on Monday, December 12, people whipped out their phones to snap away and capture the moment.

While there was travel chaos across Hertfordshire for commuters and schoolchildren, some people were able to enjoy the rare treat of snow.
