Details for Watford’s Christmas Lights Switch-On have been confirmed – along with who will officially flick the switch.
The lights will be shining from Saturday November 19 when The Voice UK contestant Clare Cordell will join the festivities to illuminate the town at 5.20pm.
The free event will begin from 3.15pm with marching band SEC Pathfinder Drum Corps travelling from Atria Watford’s main entrance in Queens Road to The Parade.
There will then be live on-stage entertainment from 4pm to 5.30pm, including Electric Umbrella and Watford Rock Choir performing festive favourites and Watford Palace Theatre’s pantomime characters appearing ahead of its upcoming show Beauty & The Beast.
There will also be a fireworks display.
Watford BID chief executive Maria Manion said: “The Christmas lights switch-on offers a great opportunity for visitors and residents to enjoy a day out with friends and family.
“We once again must give thanks to Watford town centre businesses for funding another spectacular set of Christmas lights in our town.
“We also thank Watford Council for their contribution towards the lights and their support in promoting this wonderful annual event.”
