A “destination food pub” is looking for a new “community minded” tenant to take it over.
The Horse and Chains, in Bushey High Street, is a much-loved place to eat, holding a traveller’s choice award and being ranked third of 42 restaurants in Bushey, on Tripadvisor.
An online listing for the pub says it is now “seeking an experienced food-led publican to build on the previous good reputation of the pub”.

According to the listing, new operators would need to pay ingoing costs of £29,250 and an annual rent of £45,000, but it adds that further funds beyond the stated ingoing figures would be required.
Potential annual turnover for the pub is listed at £487,000 with an estimated value of fixtures and fittings of £50,000.
The site currently has two nearby sister pubs, The Royal Oak Watford Heath and the Prince George.
The pub includes a beer garden, function room, and car park.
It also offers two-bedroom private accommodation.
The listing specifies it is seeking an “experienced operator”.
