And you can always find a pub at the end for drinks or even a Sunday roast.
Here we outline five easy walks near Watford that you can go on to experience the autumn weather.
Cassiobury Park & Grand Union Canal, Watford
This two-mile walk takes approximately one hour and ten minutes to complete.
It is always worth taking a walk through one of Watford’s most loved parks, no matter how many times you have been.
Along this route you will get to see the famous houseboats and the miniature railway
Start and finish point: Park entrance near the junction of Langley Way and Parkside Drive.
Hertfordshire Way from Aldenham to Bricket Wood
At five miles this walk is expected to last for three hours and 10 minutes.
Walkers will get to sample the countryside and pass a gothic mansion built at the beginning of the 19th Century.
Start and finish point: Start with St John the Baptist church, Church Lane, Aldenham on your right and the village green on your left.
A circular from Aldenham to Watling Street
This three-hour walk covers a distance of five miles.
Passing by 18th century buildings and pubs will be a perfect treat for an afternoon walk. And at one point who will get the chance to walk through a village that still hold on to its Victorian routes.

Grandad's walk from Chipperfield Common
At two miles this walk is expected to take one hour and 10 minutes to complete.
Expect to see a twisted chestnut tree that is estimated to be 400 years old. The walk ends back in Chipperfield Common that is home to the Two Brewers pub, so you might want to finish off with a drink or some lunch.

Chipperfield to Kings Langley circular
A slightly longer walk, but it is still labelled as easy.
It will take roughly three hours to complete and is five miles in length.
The route will take you past a pond and a Georgian-fronted farm house.
