A popular Indian street food chain has opened its first Watford branch at a petrol station.
Chaiiwala Express is a café that offers Indian beverages, an all-day Indian breakfast and a selection of street food for drivers taking a pit stop.
It celebrated its official opening today (October 14) at the Esso Garage on the A405 on Kingsway North Orbital Road, Garston.
When announcing the new café on Instagram, Chaiiwala wrote: “We’ve had endless requests to open a branch in Watford – mission accomplished.”
This marks the chain’s 66th venue in the UK and 71st worldwide.

In September, the Watford Observer reported that the chain would be opening a different shop at 127 High Street, Watford, with plans submitted for an illuminated Chaiiwala sign.
The company has yet to announce when it intends to open the High Street shop.
Franchise director Nil Naik previously said: "As a South Asian street food provider with Western fusion, our food and drink offering resonates well with desi and ethnic demographic customers and our expansion plans centre around our aim to reach a wider audience.”
