New landlords may have been found for a pub whose previous tenants handed in their notice after the pandemic saying “times have changed”.
Brewery Greene King has confirmed it is in discussions with a prospective partner to take over the White Horse pub in Chorleywood.
The couple who currently run the pub, Richie and Lisa, announced on Facebook in August that they had handed in their six months’ notice, saying the business had not recovered from the Covid pandemic.
The pair, who live in the village, thanked regulars and Greene King business development manager Andrew Milne said he would like the White Horse to remain and develop as a "community" pub.

The company has not guaranteed what would happen to the pub if a replacement is not found within six months, but it has now confirmed discussions with a new tenant are underway.
It added that talks are currently in the “negotiations stage”.
A Greene King spokesperson said: “We understand the importance of The White Horse to Chorleywood, so have spent some time looking for the right partner to take over the running of the pub.
“We’re in discussions with a prospective new partner and hope to announce more details in due course.”
The current owners will stay in place during the six-month notice period, or until a suitable tenant is found.
