Fans of Ricky Gervais were left frustrated after “pot luck” tickets for his stand-up show in Rickmansworth “sold out in seconds”.

The comic announced he will hold a material night next Thursday (July 28) in Watersmeet for his upcoming ‘Armageddon’ Netflix special.

While fans hoped that they could see the After Life star perform locally, many were unable to get their hands on tickets when they went on sale today at 10am.

On Twitter, @CFC_Russ wrote: “Ricky, the Watersmeet show didn’t go on sale for 25 minutes then went straight to sold out in seconds?... Haven’t seen a single person say they managed to get tickets.”

He continued: “So the Watersmeet ticket never went on sale for mobile users… Lots of people missed out by the sounds of it. Any chance of a second date @RickyGervais?”

Gervais joked that customers caused "general chaos" in the end.

Paula Trevaskis said she had “three devices on the go, constantly refreshing” and was unable to buy a ticket.

Carmen Napper questioned: “Who even got tickets at watersmeet? It didn't open up then sold out.”

Another user, Julie Virgo, wrote: “Haha everyone in Ricky kicking off. It’s pot luck!”

Live Nation, the site selling the tickets, was approached for comment.
