A carnival inspired by Rio and Notting Hill is looking to “make history in Watford.”
Jomo Oparah, the chief executive of events management company Mojo Fusion, shared plans for the carnival in May this year.
The Cultural and Music Carnival is now all set for Radlett Road playing field from 10am to 8pm on Saturday July 30.

Mojo Fusion is working around its tagline “Let’s make history in Watford” and hopes to maintain and grow the carnival annually to put Watford on tourists' maps.
Jomo, 52, said: “The carnival is all about promoting cross cultural interaction.
“There is so much diversity of ethnicity and culture in Watford.
“Also, for this year, it will be about alleviating the stresses of Covid.”
DJ coming from across the UK and abroad to take the stage include French act t_sia_, Mk-M2k, David Reeves, DJ Collo and twin sisters D.T.T.P. who will all bring the music.
The Carnival Slayers Mas - short for masquerade - band will design the carnival dancers’ costumes and make sure the parade looks beautiful.
Jomo added: “We have some real showcase acts like Princess K, a teenager who has performed with Ed Sheeran and Stormzy and international talents.
"But it isn’t all about big acts for us, we want this event to start small and be the first of many and something that is all about the community.
“We want to bring people together and promote Watford businesses.
“We have a small business ourselves, Mojo Fusion barbershop in Queens Road and we try and get involved in the community as much as we can.
“It is all about giving back to the community and it is all based around the community.”
Watford businesses which have been confirmed as vendors for the event.
At the carnival, the Monas Collection will sell African jewellery, Yam Yam Bistro will provide Polish and American style food, Bar brothers will bring a mobile car to provide the alcohol, while COTI Queen of the island and Kelly’s Caribbean cuisine will bring the Caribbean dishes.
Admission to the carnival will be free and organisers encourage anyone to come down and be part of Watford history at the first annual carnival.
The current sponsors are Hilton Hotel, Iqbal halal, Glen Rovers GAA club, The Twin Flame, Wenzel's, the Watford Observer and Watford Borough Council.
