The Moon Under Water pub’s new garden, which opened today, is big enough to seat an extra 150 people.
The High Street pub, which opened in 1994, has used colourful chairs, flowers, and plants to brighten the area.
The pub's owner, Watford-based JD Wetherspoon, says it has created 10 new jobs.
The garden has been sectioned into smoking and non-smoking areas. There is also an under-cover space.
Shift leader Callem Hewitson said customers are happy with the new area.
He said: “We have had lots of people come in and talk about how nice it looks.
“It’s a bit of a shame about the weather, but it has been well received."
