A teenager was left in tears after a Watford wedding shop "hacked away" at her prom dress just weeks before the big day.
David’s Bridal was taking up the 15-year-old's gown but left it so jagged her mum Shareefa Khalisa claimed "it looked like someone did it blindfolded".
She added: “They gave it to us in the store and said we could try it on and if we were happy with it, we could walk out, but they didn’t mention the problem.
“We brought it back to them and they offered to fix it, but I didn’t trust them after that.

“Did they really think we wouldn’t notice and just pay and walk out?”
The £170 dress was bought from the shop, which offered either a £25 discount or a full refund, according to Ms Khalisa.
But the mum-of-two said the discount was too small and her daughter Sumayyah had her heart set on that dress.
She has been left distraught while trying to revise for her GCSEs as the prom is now just two weeks away.
Ms Khalisa went on to warn people to be careful when requesting alterations.
“When I went back and I was looking at some of the brides going in, I thought don’t let them touch it," she said.
“I wanted to tell them to be careful, but I didn’t want to spoil what should be a wonderful time trying on wedding dresses.”
The mum added she received messages on Facebook from women whose dresses were also allegedly ruined by the store.
Last year a customer claimed David's Bridal was "ruining brides' big days", saying it was ordering wrong dresses, not doing alterations on time and then doing them incorrectly.
But a store spokesperson previously pointed to "unprecedented times", adding it has "apologised unreservedly" to anyone adversely affected and tried to resolve any issues.
Ms Khalisa added: “I saw them saying that problems were due to difficulty after Covid but clearly this is just something they do.”
