Bushey village is to have a second shisha lounge along the High Street, it has been confirmed.
The SW Lounge will be at the back of the Smash & Wings restaurant, at 33C High Street, Bushey, which is set to open by the end of May or early June.
SW Lounge co-owner Shah Nabi told the Observer that this will have a different atmosphere to the VU Lounge that is set in the village’s Country Club.

He said: “What we are offering is very different. It is more of a café style.
“It’s much more of a relaxing environment. The music that we will be playing is very minimal. We are very mindful that neighbours are above and either side.
“We don’t anticipate it to get very rowdy. It’s not going to be a late-night venue or raucous in any way.”
Customers visiting the SW Lounge will be able to order burgers and chicken wings served at the Smash & Wings restaurant.
Mr Nabi, who lives in St Albans, said the joint venture will not be serving alcohol and those with a sweet tooth will have the option of ordering desserts too.
The shisha will be served in the garden and government guidelines will be adhered to regarding ventilation, said Mr Nabi. It will only be available for over 18s. “No ID, no entry,” Mr Nabi added.
In a local Facebook group, some members posted concerns about having another shisha bar in the area.
Mr Nabi said: “I think it’s fair that there might be these misconceptions around shisha. Does Bushey need another shisha lounge?
“But I think it’s important to clarify we are very different to Vue Lounge. We are not trying to be a nightclub. We want to provide a very respectful quiet and positive experience for our customers.”
Currently Smash & Wings is searching for full-time and part-time counter and kitchen staff.
Its co-owner Haroon Khan said: “This is something new to the area that has not been here before and I’m sure people will like the food.
“We are a family-owned business – it’s our dream – and we are all very friendly people.”
