A Watford fancy dress shop has brought the Queen to town through a new display in-store celebrating the Platinum Jubilee.
Masquerade Fancy Dress, on Langley Road, will have a range of royal costumes available from its selection of over 30,000.
Husband and wife team Robin and Jean Harper have been running the shop since the early 80s. They have marked previous royal occasions, but say this feels like the biggest.
Jean said: “We have got all the flags and costumes we thought would fit in with the royal theme waiting if people want to come in.
“We get customers with their children who once came in as children with their mothers.”
The usually successful business had struggled through lockdowns, but Robin and Jean managed to keep it running while many similar shops had to shut down during a time when few were celebrating.

Jean said: “We are hoping that everybody living in Watford will celebrate and make an effort for The Queen’s Jubilee so that she knows we care.”
