With the half-term holidays and Halloween on the horizon here are a few ideas to help keep our children entertained.
Pumpkin picking at Nathan’s Farm in Chalfont St Giles from October 19 to 31.
This October half term, Nathan’s Farm will have PYO pumpkin picking, pumpkin carving, pumpkin soup, the chance to feed and pet the animals and enjoy the playground.
Nathan’s Farm has more than 120 acres of land which is home to many animals, which are available for sale and they have a farm shop selling eggs and animal feed. The cafe is open serving sandwiches, coffees and teas.

Half Term at Hertford Museum: 'Horrible Halloween!' from October 26 to 28, 10.30am to 3.30pm.
The museum will be hosting “spooktacular” craft activities for children of all ages. It costs £3 per child and is on a drop-in basis. The museum is offering free places for children of low-income families and places are allocated on a first come first served basis.

Follow Me to Frightown – A Halloween Festival for Families in Hatfield Park on October 28 at 10am and October 31 at 3.30pm.
This Hatfield Park event will have children crafting their own decorations and souvenirs in the Goblins Makers tent, solving the story puzzle and hearing an ancient Frightown folklore, helping the Wacky Witch prepare a feast, and reminding the Boogey Man the lyrics to his song and lastly joining a dance party at the Skelton cabaret.

The Gruesome Gardens Halloween Trail at Ashridge House from October 25 to October 28, 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Using the map provided and some detective skills, children will have to crack the clues that will be lurking behind the gates at Ashridge House in Berkhamsted.
Adult tickets cost £8.50, children (12 years and under) cost £6.50 and infant (2 years and under) cost £2.50.

A golfing experience by Topgolf has a family friendly offer in their Watford branch.
From October 25 -28, the offer provides adults and juniors two games, food and drink between 11am-2pm from Monday to Thursday at the centre.
The Eat, Drink, Play deal at Topgolf allows adults (£20) and juniors (£14) to play two games during the school holidays with food and refreshments included.
With a selection of burgers, wraps, sandwiches, as well as vegetarian and vegan alternatives, visitors can enjoy the food and beverages on offer after hitting micro-chipped golf balls at giant dartboard-like targets.
Guests just need to turn up at the Topgolf venue without the need for booking, and request to 'Eat, Drink, Play' at the guest services desk.
