A new large banner was placed outside Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden to show outrage of actress Amber Heard continuing her leading role in the Aquaman sequel.
Near the end of June, a campaigner placed a small banner outside the studio in Leavesden after production of Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom started, with Heard set to continue her role for the upcoming DC film.
After Johnny Depp, who was married to Heard, was dropped from the Fantastic Beasts franchise when he lost his “wife beater” libel case against The Sun last year, there were calls for Warner Bros to equally drop Heard amid domestic abuse accusations towards Depp.
Heard has been accused of various acts of domestic abuse, including throwing a bottle at her ex-husband and stubbing a cigarette out on his cheek.
A campaign under #JusticeForJohnnyDepp was trending in June among people believing that there has been unfair treatment between the two actors.
Youtuber UnBoxPHD, who has nearly 13,000 subscribers after covering the trial extensively, placed a large banner again this month in a continued call to hear from Warner Bros as to why Heard has not been dropped like Depp.
With the larger sign, pedestrians and Warner Bros staff were encouraged to look at the sign and take pictures, so that they could get a better understanding of the movement.
Police allowed the campaign to continue after questioning him at a point, while security at Warner Bros staff originally stated that he could not take pictures by the Leavesden sign – before retracting their restriction.
According to the youtuber, many people were “already fixed on whether they were in favour of Johnny or Amber”.
He added: “However, the majority of people I asked were in favour of Johnny Depp. This included a few Warner Bros employees, including one who said he was working on Aquaman with Amber.”
UnBoxPHD previously explained to the Watford Observer that his intention is to purely get a statement out of Warner Bros Studios to have a better understanding of why Heard continues acting while Depp has been dropped from the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
The youtuber explained he wants to see whether Warner Bros can justify the reasoning.
Warner Bros were contacted about the campaign.
He said: “I come from it a legal point of view, having studied law at university and having the judgement of the UK trial.
“It was clear that Amber Heard was not a credible witness, based on the misinformation that she was providing to the courts.”
He explained that he does not see Depp to be “a saint” and he is not a Depp-superfan to be defending his alleged actions, but he believes there is a hypocrisy considering the allegations of Heard.
He continued: “I think Warner Bros should give a reason why she’s still in the film.
“They (the public) have the right to know why Amber Heard is being kept still in the film.”
During the court trials, UnboxPHD would cover the trials on his channel and film footage outside.
To continue his part in the campaign, the Youtuber is planning to travel to Virginia to cover key events Heard will be at, including filming locations and the premiere.
