A classic car show which attracts thousands of people to Croxley Green has been cancelled due to Covid.
The Watford and District Classic Car Club, which organises the event Classics on the Green, has said it is “not in the public interest” to try and put on the two Croxley Green shows this year.
A spokesman added: “Our events can attract over 1,100 vehicles and thousands of visitors, so for the safety of all concerned, postponing until 2022 is in our opinion the best option.
“The Government expect daily Covid infection rates to continue to rise exponentially after the removal of SD [social distancing] restrictions, regardless of the success of the vaccination programme.”
Over the last 25 years more than £80,000 has been raised during the events for local and national charities.
The spokesperson added: “Please stick with us, enjoy the summer, happy motoring and see you next year.”
The cancellation means charities will again miss out but if you would like to donate email petermoss@watfordclassics.co.uk for details.
