A motorist who was found “slumped over the wheel asleep” in the middle of a Watford road has been fined.
When police officers checked a Ford Transit parked between lanes one and two in Waterfields Way they found Abdullah Azhar asleep.
The 27-year-old was charged with driving without due care or attention on June 5 last year.
The charge was proved in his absence at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on January 26, and he was ordered to pay a total of £729.
Azhar, of Turner Road, Bushey, also had his driving record endorsed with 6 points.

Gregory Stephen Forbes, 31, was ordered to pay £395 after being found guilty of using a phone while driving in Park Lane, London, on April 25, 2021.
Forbes, of Riverwell Close, Watford, was found guilty by Bexley Magistrates’ Court on January 23 this year, after he denied the charge on November 16, 2021.
His driving record was endorsed with 6 points.
