Watford have completed the signature of Dundee star Craig Forsyth after he completed his medical today – becoming officially Sean Dyche's first signing as manager.
The 22-year-old midfielder has attracted interest from clubs both north and south of the border but has opted for a switch to Vicarage Road.
Forsyth has signed a three-year deal and although his contract at Dundee was up this summer, Watford have paid an undisclosed compensation fee, with additional clauses attached.
The Hornet's new head of football business Ross Wilson was in charge of the negotiations following his full-time arrival from Falkirk last week.
Former manager Malky Mackay, who has joined Cardiff City, was heavily involved in the transfer and rubber-stamped the moved before his departure.
But as the announcement came after Dyche's appointment was confirmed this afternoon, then technically he could be classed as the new Watford boss' 'first signing'.
We reported yesterday that Forsyth was set to join Watford and would have his medical today.
The confirmation of his arrival follows swiftly after the announcement of Sean Dyche as the new manager at Vicarage Road.
Forsyth, who spent time on loan at Montrose and Arbroath, scored eight goals in 35 appearances for the Dees last season.
