Watford are reportedly looking to bring Valencia and Tunisia defender Aymen Abdennour to Vicarage Road.
Sky Sports reports the 27-year-old, who was subject of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United before he moved to the Mestalla in 2015, is interesting new head coach Marco Silva.
The outlet cites sources claiming the Hornets have offered £1.8million to the La Liga side to loan Abdennour for the season, with the option of making the move permanent for an additional £7 million.
He joined Los Che for a large sum two years ago, intended as a replacement for the Manchester City-bound Nicolas Otamendi.
However, he has started only 31 league games since moving to Valencia, and has seen his career stagnate on the Spanish coast.
It was at Monaco where the 54-time international capped defender earned most of his success, starting all six of their Champions League games in 2014/15 after they had finished runners-up in Ligue 1 the previous year.
