Watford will consider a summer move for Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen following earlier reports, sources have confirmed.
The 31-year-old centre-back, who has played less than 11 games' worth of league football over the past three seasons, has taken the interest of Hornets owner Gino Pozzo, although the Watford Observer understands any formal move for his signature is some way off.
Pozzo believes he can be the man to lure the Belgian international back to north London, as Vermaelen is married to English TV presenter Polly Parsons.
Watford's training base at London Colney is also directly next door to the Arsenal training ground, where the defender spent his day-to-day working life until departing in 2014.
