Mario Suarez has agreed terms on a four-year contract at Valencia, according to reports.
Valencia-based paper Plaza Deportiva states the Spanish midfielder has completed discussions over personal terms with the club, with a move close to completion following the departure of Javi Fuego to Espanyol on Saturday.
Speaking after the Spanish side's pre-season win over Suarez's former club Fiorentina, The Oranges' boss Pako Ayestaran called him a "proven player", heightening speculation he would be joining the club.
Suarez was a January signing under former Hornets boss Quique Flores, arriving at Vicarage Road for around €5.5 million, but was left out of the squad for Saturday's Premier League opener at Southampton.
