THE outcome of a scan today (Friday, November 4) may determine whether Wolves decide to report Clarke Carlisle to the footballing authorities for an alleged stamp on keeper Michael Oakes during Watford's 3-1 victory on Saturday.
Molienux boss Glenn Hoddle raised the prospect of sending a video of the supposed incident to the FA and Football League if the ankle injury which forced Oakes out of his side's 1-1 draw at Brighton on Tuesday night proves serious.
This led to Watford releasing a statement yesterday (Thursday), which said: "We are unaware of any incidents of alleged foul play involving Clarke Carlisle and Wolverhampton goalkeeper Michael Oakes.
"The fact that Oakes was able to complete the full match demonstrates, in our eyes, the significance of the alleged incident."
However, on being informed of the contents of the statement, Hoddle said: "I have seen it with my own eyes and I suggest that someone from Watford watches it on their tape and perhaps they will have second thoughts about it.
"It was naughty and something that I, and everyone else in football, doesn't want to see.
"Let's just hope for everyone's sake that Michael's injury clears up pretty quickly and there is no problem."
