Gianfranco Zola says he expects all three of Watford's trialists to sign season-long loans with the club.
Left back Daniel Pudil, who plays for Granada, and Udinese forward Matej Vydra have been on trial with Watford since the players returned for pre-season last week.
The Czech duo were joined by Udinese's Almen Adbi on Monday and whilst Vydra was left out of last night's match due to fitness issues, Abdi and Pudil both played 45 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Boreham Wood.
When asked whether the trio are likely to remain with Watford for the season, Zola replied: "Yes I think so. Obviously they look like they can have an impact on the team."
He explained Vydra was not involved last night as he has been training on his own this week but was pleased with the performances of Pudil and Abdi.
Zola said: "I am pleased with the way Pudil and Abdi played, especially considering Abdi only joined us yesterday (Monday).
"They are bonding with the rest of the group and I am looking forward to seeing Vydra, who is a promising player.
"But things are going in the right direction and we will have more time to work and get better."
Adrian Mariappa 's departure to Reading was confirmed yesterday and he leaves the club with the blessing of his new manager and team-mates.
Zola said: "There is a mixture [of emotions]. I am disappointed because he is a good player but on the other hand I am very pleased for him because he is going to be playing in the Premier League.
"He is a likeable boy and we wish him great success."
