Oxhey Jets reached the final of the Herts Senior Cup after a dramatic penalty shootout win at Cheshunt last night.
The hosts took the lead after 21 minutes when Joe Bricknall scored.
But the Jets equalised on the half hour mark when Lee Inch sent in a superb pass and Lewis Putman found the net.
Putman was brought down by the home keeper after 35 minutes but the shot stopper controversially only received a yellow card. This proved significant as Chris Ingham's spot kick was predictably saved.
To add to their woes, a long clearance fell to Kieran Ashwood and he restored Cheshunt's lead.
Oxhey equalised midway through the second half when Putman hit a stunning 25-yard equaliser.
Both sides had chances during extra time but it went to penalties and keeper Mark Jessop proved the hero with three saves.
Oxhey's reward will be a game against either Stevenage or Bishop's Stortford in the final.
