Midfielder Josh Walker has returned to Watford following an unsuccessful loan spell at Stevenage.
The 22-year-old joined the League One side at the end of August and was scheduled to stay at Broadhall Way until January.
But the Middleborough academy graduate found first team opportunities limited and made only six substitute appearances.
Hornets’ boss Sean Dyche told Watford’s official website: “His loan deal doesn't officially expire until early January, however I feel it's important we're always putting the welfare and support of our players first.
"With this in mind, and with limited game time for Josh, he's back here to get involved in training once again and take part in our development matches until he's available for us in January."
