John Eustace’s stunning overhead kick at home to Coventry City was named as Watford’s Goal of the Season at the club’s awards dinner tonight.
The Hornets skipper’s effort emerged as the clear winner by more than 500 voting points in what was a two-horse race for the trophy, with former on-loan defender Andrew Taylor’s sweetly-struck volley at home to Portsmouth coming second.
Piero Mingoia’s curling effort in the FA Cup win over Hartlepool United secured third spot, ahead of what was adjudged to be the pick of Player of the Season and top scorer Danny Graham’s nine nominations – his first goal of the campaign during the opening day success at Norwich City.
