Andreas Weimann has returned to Aston Villa to play in today’s Reserve team match but should be back with the Watford squad later in the week.
Weimann signed for Watford until the end of the season on January 19 but because it is a youth loan, it allows Aston Villa to recall him for training sessions or matches.
Villa plan to start Weimann, who has scored twice in eight appearances for Watford, in the Reserves game with Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon, kick-off 1pm.
A spokesperson from Aston Villa confirmed Weimann's loan agreement states he can play in matches for Villa as long as it is not for the first team.
Watford manager Malky Mackay may be surprised Weimann was included though as the striker was injured on Saturday and Mackay did not expect him to be fit until the "middle of the week".
