Watford youngsters Rob Kiernan and Tom Aldred have both joined League Two clubs on loan until the new year.
Kiernan has linked up with Bradford City and Aldred has joined Stockport County until January 5.
"I'm really looking forward to it, I just want to play football," Kiernan said.
"Having game experience is the only way I'm really going to improve, you can't beat first-team games.
"I think playing for points is so important and I really am looking forward to having the opportunity to prove myself."
Kiernan, who made his sole Watford appearance against Crystal Palace in January 2008, has already spent time on loan at SPL side Kilmarnock and League One Yeovil Town.
Malky Mackay said: "Rob went to Yeovil and unfortunately it didn't quite work out for him. He needs games, he needs league football and he needs experience.
"I'm delighted that Bradford contacted us about him. He's going up there for the next couple of months to be involved at a real good level with a good manager [Peter Taylor] who has a proven track record of dealing with youngsters.
"We'll have our own scout going to watch Rob's games, I'll have a weekly phone-call with one of the staff at Bradford and one of our coaches will keep tabs on him and make sure we keep in regular contact with him.
"We've got a lot of youngsters coming through here. One of the stages of their development is about going out and experiencing football at a higher level than they're playing at the moment.
"The Academy players need to be stretched, they need to go and see what the world is like and have a lifestyle experience as well.
"We've done that with others in the past, we have to make sure we send them to the right places - and make sure we get constant feedback."
Aldred joined from Carlisle United in the summer but has yet to make a first team appearance for Watford.
Mackay said: "Tom is a young player who needs to play first-team football at a competitive level. We certainly feel it will do him a lot of good."
