Watford’s Mat Sadler set up one of Huddersfield Town Reserves’ goals during their 3-1 win over Grimsby Town’s second string.
The out-of-favour Hornets defender has been on trial at Huddersfield this week and in his first outing in front of the watching Town manger Lee Clarke, Sadler burst forward from left back to cross for Aiden Chippendale to score his side’s second.
Sadler played the full 90 minutes against Grimsby, who equalised through Danny North after Spencer Harris had taken the lead from the spot in the seventh minute.
Chippendale regained the lead in the 57th minute before Michael McCaffery made sure of the win with a quarter of an hour to go.
