Southend United have made a bid for Watford striker Theo Robinson.
Robinson impressed during his loan spell at United this season, when he scored seven goals in 21 appearances.
Southend boss Steve Tilson expressed his desire to sign the 20 year old permanently at the beginning of the month and has now made a firm offer to Watford.
The fee is undisclosed but the Watford Observer understands the striker would command a fee in excess of £100,000.
Robinson has made one start in the Carling Cup and five substitute appearances in the league for Watford since joining the club in 2005.
But performances on loan at Southend and Hereford last season, when he scored 16 times, has attracted the attention of a host of clubs, with Swindon Town also enquiring about the Birmingham-born striker.
