Former Watford defender Joel Ekstrand has retired from football at the age of 30.
The Swedish international made 90 appearances for the Hornets between 2012 and 2016 after initially arriving on loan from Udinese as one of the first of the Pozzo loanees.
He was released from the club in June 2016 and almost went on to sign for Leeds United, before the club pulled out of the deal following a medical.
He went on to play for Bristol City, Rotherham United and AIK in his native Sweden before deciding to call time on his playing career after his contract was terminated.
